What is the life expectancy of artificial turf?

For outdoor grass like artificial turf, you can generally expect 10 - 15 years. This can depend on where you are located and how harsh the elements are in your region.  In fact, for peace of mind, we offer one of the best warranties in the synthetic turf industry.

What kind of warranties do you offer?

We offer a full 8 year manufacturer warranty.

[ top ]

Is artificial turf easily cleaned and maintained?

Artificial turf grass is easily cleaned and maintained by simply using a leaf blower or broom to clean off any debris.  With added drainage perforations, it can also be hosed with water and the water will seep through and be absorbed by the ground underneath.

Do you provide installation instructions if I want to install myself?

Yes, we have detailed, step-by-step installation instructions available upon purchase.

[ top ]

Will rain, snow, or the hot desert sun damage or alter this outdoor turf?

No, there are perforations in the tough rubber backing to allow for proper drainage and is designed to be installed in even the hottest desert heat.

Do you have artificial grass for patio, balcony and boats?

Yes, starting at .69 per square foot.

[ top ]

What is infill?

Turf infill is a granular material such as sand or rubber pellets about the size of sand grains. Infill is distributed on top of artificial grass to keep the lawn fibers standing and to give the synthetic lawn cushion.

[ top ]

Is turf conducive to pets ?

Yes.  When artificial turf is used outside, it can easily be cleaned with a hose.  The plastic backing is porous so water and pet urine will absorb into the ground just like on natural grass.  Other pet accidents are cleaned in the same way as on a regular lawn.

Does the grass mold or mildew?

Due to the non-absorbing nature of the materials used and the drainage base designed to migrate water away from the grass, mold and mildew is not an issue.  In fact, our backing is made of 2 layers of  polybac (13 & 18 pic) as the primary, combined with 20 oz urethane as the secondary coating to give superior stitch-lock and mildew resistance.

[ top ]

How hot does the grass get?

The grass does not stay as cool as natural grass which has water running through it, but does not absorb and radiate heat like pavement, rock or brick.

[ top ]

Will the grass harbor any bugs?

Since the grass has no organic value, the bugs have nothing to feed on and therefore will move on to a yard with real grass.  Fire ants have a hard time coming up through the drainage holes and will generally find an area outside the grass that has less resistance.

What does Face Weight refer to?

The "Face Weight" refers to the amount of yarn material per square yard.  For example, a 36 oz piece of turf will seem sturdier than an 18 oz piece of the same yarn type, because there is more yarn in the same size piece of turf.

[ top ]

What does Yarn Type refer to?

There are 3 yarn types when it comes to our artificial turf.  Nylon turf is very durable.  Turf made of polypropylene monofilament, "Mono" yarn type is typically harder and will last longer, while Polyethylene, "Poly" turf tends to be a softer material.

[ top ]

What does Height refer to?

The height refers to the length of the individual blades, or how tall the turf is.  For "carpet like" turf, this typically ranges from .25 in to 1.5 in. For "grass like" turf, this can range from 1.5 in to 2.00 in.

[ top ]

What does Backing refer to?

Backing refers to the material on the back of the piece of turf and our backing is made of 2 layers of  polybac (13 & 18 pic) as the primary, combined with 20 oz urethane as the secondary coating to give superior stitch-lock and mildew resistance.  Drainage Perforations are manufactured in backing to provide proper drainage for any outdoor application.
